On October 8, 2025, at 8:36 PM, the world dimmed with the loss of Jeremy Todd Hood, a radiant soul whose fierce courage and unbreakable spirit shined through his valiant battle with cancer until his final breath. Jeremy was a young man whose boundless passion, kindness, and vibrant heart touched the lives of all who knew him, leaving a legacy of love and inspiration that will never fade.
Known affectionately as “Hoodie,” Jeremy worked alongside his father, Jerry Hood, at Hood Plumbing, where his dedication and skill were paving the way for him to become part-owner, carrying forward a cherished family legacy with pride and commitment.
At the heart of Jeremy’s world was his beloved wife, Amy, whose love was a timeless anchor, a bond so profound it inspired all who witnessed it. Their shared life was filled with warmth, laughter, and the joyful presence of their three beloved dogs, Randy, Ricky, and Julian, who held a special place in Jeremy’s tender heart. An avid animal lover, Jeremy’s soul was deeply connected to the animals he adored, including his fur babies Frank and Beans, who preceded him in death and surely welcomed him with boundless affection in the beyond.
Jeremy is survived by his loving parents, Jerry (Alicia) Hood and Pam (David) Rich, and his brothers, Blake (Sandy) Lowe, Riley (Elizabeth) Hood, Jamie (Morgan) Fox, and Jeremy (Trinity) Rich, all of which were his confidants and companions through life’s journey in their own right. His heart was filled with love for his nieces, Calaya, Natalie, Aliza, and Jayla, whom he cherished very much, their mutual affection brought joy to his life. Jeremy’s nephews, Eli, Isaac, and Ezra held a uniquely special place in his heart being such a big part of Jeremys life, their close bond was woven through countless shared moments of laughter and love until the end.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Della Mae and Gerald Henson Hood, and David and Portia Passwaiter, and his great grandparents, Charles and Edna Shrum, whose love helped shape the remarkable man he became. Jeremy’s warmth enveloped a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, all of whom will carry his memory with them forever.
Jeremys’ unique personality made him truly special. It doesn’t come as a shock to those who knew him his preference for order and precision found a perfect outlet in karting. Jeremy’s passion for karting was a defining light in his life. He was a racer at heart! On the track, he was a force—his competitive spirit in every lap. Karting was more than a hobby; it was an expression of his fearless drive and zest for life. On the track competing or in the garage tinkering and prepping his kart, Jeremy’s love for the sport was infectious, drawing friends and fellow racers into his orbit. His smile shined through the pits, and his sportsmanship and camaraderie made every race he competed in a connection with his competitors and friends. The karting community will forever feel his absence, knowing they can’t fill that void, but knowing his spirit will linger on every track he graced.
Jeremy’s departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his legacy of strength, kindness, and unyielding love will endure. His laughter was a melody, his compassion a gift, and his love for life a beacon that will never dim. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Jeremy’s memory with donations to “Paws, Wings, and Other Things,” a cause that reflects his profound love for animals and the gentle soul he shared with the world.
Every lap is a story, every race is a legacy, that is how he would want to be remembered. Hoodie was loved beyond measure and will be missed beyond words. His light will shine on in our hearts forever.
