Jeanne Curie Ball

Jeanne Curie Ball passed away peacefully with children and grandchildren by her bedside on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 2:00pm at her daughter's home in Indianapolis. She was born to Florence Rebecca and William Lincoln Peck on Nov. 2 1929 in Anderson, Indiana. After graduating from Anderson High School she attended Lindenwood College for a year before transferring to Indiana University where she joined Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Jeanne graduated with BA and MA degrees and taught Biology and English, first in South Bend, Indiana and then in Santa Barbara, CA. There she also worked summers in her beloved Yosemite National Park. She married William H. Ball Jr. from Muncie, IN on February 23, 1957 and lived in Indianapolis. As a young mother of four children, she was also active in the Children's Museum, Indianapolis Symphony, and Starlight Musicals League. Jeanne was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Columbia Club, and Meridian Hills Country Club. She was a successful businesswoman who owned and was President/ CEO of the EdgeInn restaurant in Anderson for 30 years. Surviving her are the loves of her life, her children and grandchildren. They are Julia C. Ball and her daughter, Claire; Janet Ball Starkey, husband Richard and children Samantha, Annie and David; William (Chip) H. Ball III, wife Quay and children, Jenna, Tyler, Trevor, Zeke and Hannah; and John L. Ball, wife Shelly and children Grace and Christopher. Also surviving is her sister Carolyn C. Davis. Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother, Don W. Peck of Anderson. We will miss her but are comforted to know that she is with our Heavenly Father and we will see her again someday.
