Jeanne C. Hallam
76, Speedway, passed away March 17, 2013 at the Yellow Rose Hospice Unit in Indianapolis.
Jeanne was born in Elmhurst, IL on August 8, 1936 to Clarence and Marjorie Caldwell.
She graduated in 1958 with a B.A. in Music Education from IU and held a Master's degree in Library Science from Butler University.
Jeanne was an active member of Third Church of Christ, Scientist, Indianapolis, serving as Reader. She was director and teacher at St. Andrews Lutheran Nursery School, Speedway.
She was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota music fraternity and Gamma Phi Beta sorority for over 50 years and was past president of Speedway Musicale. She was Volunteer of the Year for the West Group of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her first husband, Timothy L. Yarling (1969). She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Hallam; her children Kimberly (Rob) Scheller and Timothy (Chiharu) Yarling; her grandchildren Alisa and Kayla Yarling; and her sister, Elizabeth (Marlyn) Meyer of Lombard, IL.
Private services will be held on Wednesday, March 20th with arrangements handled by Flanner & Buchanan-Speedway, and burial will be at Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra or a charity of your choice.
