Jeane W. Schlemmer, 94, formerly of Carmel, Indiana, died Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Westminster Village North in Indianapolis.
She was born February 25, 1927 to Paul and Rubie (Bowser) White in Kittanning, PA. She graduated from Kittanning High School in 1945 and worked as a beautician until her marriage to Charles A. Schlemmer in 1949, who preceded her in passing. Mrs. Schlemmer worked in the family business, Schlemmer and Son, and later owned a Dairy Queen franchise with her husband.
She moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1977 and worked at AFNB bank which became Chase Bank until she retired in 1995. She was an active member of Kiwanis, Carmel Symphony League, PEO, and the Church at the Crossing for many years.
Greatly missed by her family and friends, she will always be remembered as a most loving and generous person who truly cared about others. She is survived by two daughters, Cheri L. Jones (Michael) of Indianapolis and Carol S. Blessing (Marc) of Westlake, Ohio; one grandson, Max C. Blessing of Burlington, Vermont; one brother, Ray P. White (Thelma) of Jupiter, Florida. She was preceded in passing by a sister, Ferne Roofner.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive, with Pastor Jim Cook and Pastor Bruce Hazel officiating. Friends of Jeane W. Schlemmer will be received from 12 noon until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
