Jean King,
71, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015. She was born on Thursday, September 27, 1943, in Indianapolis to Clarice and James Gilliland. She was a lifetime resident of Indianapolis, growing up on the East side of town. She met her husband, John, on a blind date while attending Howe High School. The two were married soon after meeting, and enjoyed fifty wonderful years of marriage. Jean had an incredible work ethic, and was employed at Wal-Mart for 23 years. She was a huge Colts fan, a breast cancer survivor, and a friend to everyone that met her. She will be greatly missed by friends, family, and co-workers.
Jean is preceded in death by her sisters, Joan O'Hern, Patty Dunn, and Helen McHaffey. She is survived by her loving husband; John King, her children; Paula Carr, Donald King, and Jason King, and her grandchildren; Ashley Elkins, Anthony Carr, and Allison King, and her sister, Sharon (Paul) Gosnells.
