Jean Fore Elliott Cherry

Jean Fore Elliott Cherry, 90, of Brownsburg, passed into the presence of her Lord, March 25, 2016. She was born December 2, 1925 on a farm in Shelbyville, KY to James and Nellie Mae Hall Elliott. She came to Indianapolis and married Charles E. Cherry in 1951. After raising her family, she worked a number of years for Carson Pirie & Scott, as well as The Pension Fund of the Christian Church, retiring in 1992. She was a lifelong member of Crosspointe Baptist Church, and loved her church family, serving as Sunday School teacher, choir member, and doing volunteer work. She loved sewing, crocheting, knitting, gardening and is remembered as a hard worker and lover of her flowers and nature. She was preceded in death by her husband Chuck, her parents, siblings: James Elliott Jr, Edith Elliott, Albert Elliott, and Ruth Mabry. She will be missed by her children: Kenny Cherry, Dan (Leanne) Cherry, and Donna (Leigh) Sargent, as well as her dear grandchildren: Leah Sargent of CA, Kylie Sargent of Denver, Clark (Donna) Cherry of FL, and Drew (Lori) Cherry of Zionsville. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Flanner and Buchanan – Speedway, 2950 N. High School Rd. Indianapolis, IN, at 2 p.m. with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Washington Park North Cemetery. Condolences may be made at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
