Jean Carolyn (Vansickle) Berry, 93, passed away on May 16, 2015. She was born to William Virgil and Verna (Preston) Vansickle in Indianapolis in 1921.
Jean was a devoted wife and mother and a life-long Hoosier farm-girl at heart. She graduated from Warren Central High School in 1939 and from Purdue University in 1943. She met Everett Pershing Berry of Fayetteville, AR at Purdue and they were married in 1944; he preceded her in death in 1990.
She taught Home Economics at Warren Central High School and was a wonderful cook, baker, seamstress, gardener, and financial manager. She lived in Macedonia OH, Olean NY, Sudbury MA, The Hague, Netherlands and since 1968, back home again in Indianapolis IN. She co-owned AAA Saw & Mower Shop with her husband. She was a member of the Lawrence United Methodist Church and has lived at Westminster Village North since 2004.
Surviving are four children, Paul W. Berry of Rochester Hills, MI, Carolyn B. Cook (Tom) of Lansing, NY, Lois J. Brooks (John) of Wheat Ridge, CO, Dale T. Berry (Maureen) of W. Lafayette, IN; brother, Donald B. Vansickle (JoAnn) of Greenfield, IN and grandchildren, Scot, Joseph, Leanne, Laura, Stephanie, Craig, Mark, Everett, Rachel, and Shannon. Jean also joyously tracked the exploits of her 10 great-grandchildren.
