Jean B Pierce

Jean B. Pierce, 89 of Carmel, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2011. Jean was born December 6, 1921 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late Eber J. and Ruth M. DerHammer Bennett. She was a 1940 graduate of Shortridge High School and was active in their alumni association. Jean worked in the accounting department at Indiana National Bank for over 25 years, retiring in 1983. She enjoyed square dancing and travel. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 6 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Carmel, where friends may call from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. Jean was the widow of Stanley L. Pierce. She is survived by her children, Nancy R. (husband, Bruce) Young and Steven J. (wife, Sharon) Pierce; grandchildren, Scott and Todd Young, Christine Smith, Courtney Lin, Brittany Murray, Bradley Pierce and Ashley Heck; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Richard Bennett.
