Jay Willis Fulling Kennedy, 30, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on November 14, 2024. He was born on June 14, 1994, in Lafayette, Indiana, to parents, Bruce Fulling and Debbie (Sparks) Fulling.

Growing up, Jay was always bright and creative. He spent many hours playing with his Lego sets and even made movies with the different figures. He made many things out of duct tape including a suit complete with coat, tie and top hat that he wore to his 8th grade school dance. He also enjoyed playing electronic games with his friends and his brother and sister. Jay never lost his creativity as a grown up. His nieces and grandmothers looked forward to the creative drawings and jokes that he added to their holiday and birthday cards. He taught himself how to crochet and would walk around making flowers and other neat items and giving them away. He also would make small figures and toys with a 3-d printer that he purchased. Jay even got creative with pvc pipe, making furniture such as his computer and tv stand as well as holiday lawn decorations out of it, all without any instructions.

Though originally disliking anything outdoorsy, Jay joined the scouting movement and progressed from cub scout to boy scout, eventually reaching the rank of Life Scout. He served 3 summers as a camp counselor at Camp Ransburg located at Lake Monroe in Indiana. Jay was active in Firecrafter and Order of the Arrow and also spent a year as a Sea Scout.

Jay was on the Lawrence Swim team for 3 years while in school. He went on to receive his GED with high honors in 2013.

Jay joined the Indiana Army National Guard in 2017, going to Fort Jackson in South Carolina for his basic training and completing his training at Fort Gordon in Augusta Georgia in the spring of 2018.

Jay worked several jobs as a technician, including the installation of water meters and the installation of home electronic systems. Many commented through the years what a kind and caring person Jay was.

Jay is survived by his parents, Bruce and Debbie Fulling; sisters Amanda Christy, LeeAnne (Josh) Monday, and Kaycee (Eric) Walker; brother Lance (Chelsea) Fulling; nieces Trinity (Isaiah) Williams, Hope Monday, Mercee Monday and Sophia Fulling; grand-niece Eyla Williams; and his wife Tina Kennedy.

Jay was preceded in death by grandparents Max and Joan Fulling and Willis and Ola Gwen Sparks. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
