Janice D. (Davidson) Guffey, 79, of Noblesville, Indiana, passed away on November 27, 2025. She was born on February 6, 1946, in Avondale, North Carolina, to parents, William T. Davidson Jr. and Ruth (Howle) Davidson. Janice married her high school sweetheart, Mickey Guffey, on July 23, 1966, enjoying a wonderful 59 years of marriage together.
Janice worked in banking for many years and retired from Key Bank in 2011. She was also a co-founder of Enduring Communications, a non-profit community radio station, WEPB-LP.
In her free time, you could find Janice gardening, listening to music, or watching sports. She especially loved basketball, a love that grew from playing in high school. She was a proud member of the Chase High School Girls Basketball Team that won the North Carolina State Championship. Her favorite team to watch was the UNC Tarheels, but she was also fond of Indiana Fever, following Caitlyn Clark’s journey to Indiana. Janice also loved animals, especially her favorite “grandchild,” Baxter.
Janice is survived by her loving husband, Mickey Guffey; daughters, Lisa (Fritz) Graff, Karen (Ron) Miller; grandchildren, Ethan Starrfield, Ori Starrfield, Jessica Miller, Emily Miller, Zachary Miller; brother, William “Billy” (Betty) Davidson III; brother-in-law, Burt Melton; sister-in-law, Patricia “Pat” (Walling) Guffey; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Phyllis Melton; father-in-law, Braxton Guffey; and mother-in-law, Marie (Taylor) Guffey.
Visitation for Janice will be from 11 am – 1 pm on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters) – 4180 Westfield Road, Westfield, IN 46062, with a funeral service immediately following at 1 pm. Interment will be at Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
