Janice Elaine Millette Sims (“Jennie”) November 30, 1932 – July 3, 2026

Janice Elaine Millette Sims, lovingly known as “Jennie,” passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the age of 93.

Born on November 30, 1932, Jennie lived a life defined by love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was the beloved wife of Paul A. Sims Jr., with whom she shared 67 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2016. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories.

Jennie was a devoted wife, mother of four, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an exceptional homemaker and cook who created a warm and welcoming home where family always came first. Known for her beauty, both inside and out, Jennie touched countless lives with her generosity, gentle spirit, and selfless heart. She was happiest caring for others and found joy in family gatherings, playing Euchre, and working crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her children: Paula Slone (Michael), David Sims (Yolanda), and Tim Sims (Kelly); her grandchildren: Justin Slone, Jordan Slone, Vince Sims, Shawn Stuck, Jake Sims, Luke Sims, Campbell Diehl, Maggie Diehl, and Jordan Perez; and her great-grandchildren: Cedar, Isabella, Stella, Logan, Emersyn, Ava, Ollie, Emerson, and Hayes.

Jennie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul A. Sims Jr.; her son, Michael Lawrence Sims; and her cherished granddaughter, Jena Elizabeth Slone.

Jennie’s greatest legacy was the family she loved so deeply. Her compassion, strength, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229.
