Additionally, she was fortunate to love and to be loved by many nieces, nephews and great nieces/nephews. She was proud to come from a large family.
Janet is survived by her husband of 49 years, John R. Kinser; son, John Kinser (Angela), grand children; Daniel and Kaitlyn Kinser; daughter, Lisa Peasley (Sean), grand children: Nate and Ava Peasley.
Janet came from a large family and enjoyed keeping up with everyone’s birthdays and anniversaries. She did not like being fussed over, but she certainly expressed her love for others by fussing over them. Janet was known for being a wonderful cook. Her family enjoyed her home cooking and her amazing skills at baking. She had hidden talents of capturing photos of nature surrounding her. She was the first to alert us to run outside to see the rainbow or catch a glimpse of the full moon. She was able to take beautiful photos of baby birds being fed, her grandchildren being held for the first time by their loving parents, sunrises and sunsets on the beach, and of course, her loyal hummingbirds that visit her every year. In addition to her love for her husband, children and grandchildren, she was a woman who loved her country and the Indianapolis Colts. She also took any open opportunity to express gratitude to the men and women of the military and first responders. During her time at home, she was cared for by a doting husband who always made sure she had a view of the beautiful outdoors she always enjoyed.
She was preceded in death by her loving father (“daddy”) Elmer Hicks, her brother; Mikey, nieces; Tracey, Rebecca, and great niece; Alesia.
Family will be holding private services at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East.
