Janet Carol Kinsey Beanblossom, 86, of Zionsville, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 1, 2025. Born on July 30, 1939, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Roy and Thelma (Wine) Kinsey.
Janet was a proud 1957 graduate of George Washington High School and later completed her nursing education at the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. A dedicated registered nurse, Janet served in a variety of clinical settings throughout her career, with her most recent work at St. Francis Hospital. Her compassion and professionalism left a lasting impact on her patients, colleagues, and the many young nurses she mentored.
She was a member of Tri Kappa, PEO, and the Daughters of the American Revolution, reflecting her deep commitment to community, education, and heritage.
Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years and high school sweetheart, Brant Beanblossom; her infant great-grandson, Jensen; and her brother, James Kinsey (Joyce).
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Julia Smith (Eric), Philip Beanblossom (Kathryn), Jane Hayes (Kevin), and Kris Savitsky (Ken); her grandchildren: Mikaylah, Cole, Greta, Chandler, and Foster; and her great-grandson, Landon.
A lover of vintage treasures, Janet enjoyed hunting for hidden gems at Goodwill and selling on eBay. She had a particular fondness for vintage linens, amassing a collection that reflected her keen eye and appreciation for history. Her friendships—especially those formed with her fellow 9 Tower nurses at St. Francis and her nursing school classmates from the late 1950s—remained a treasured part of her life until her passing. In addition, Janet had a passion for genealogy. She spent years researching both sides of the family without the benefit of Ancestry.
Janet’s warmth, wit, and generous spirit touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
