Jane Noreen Watson Bitter

Jane Noreen Watson Bitter, age 86 of Carmel passed away on September 8, 2016 to be with the Lord. She was born April 18, 1930 in Bridgeport, CT to William Clark and Mary C. Oliver Watson. Jane came to Indiana in 1943 where she graduated from St. Agnes Academy. She married John R. “Jack” Bitter in October, 1949. She and her husband, Jack lived in Brown County, Indiana in their cabin named “Bittersweet” for two years. She sold Avon for many years. Later, Jane worked for Block’s/Lazarus/Macy’s and retired in 1993. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack Bitter; two sons, Steven D. and David B. Bitter as well as a sister, Clare Diaz. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Clark Bitter; Mary C. “Kitty” Bitter (Joe) Hession; Greg Bitter and Phil (Sherri) Bitter; grandchildren, Erin Hession (John) Wooton, Mary Elizabeth Hession, Leah Catherine Hession, Parker G. Anderson and Reily N. Anderson.

Friends may visit from 9:00 am to 10:30 am Tuesday September 13, 2016 at Christ the King Church, 1827 Kessler Blvd. E. Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46220. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Arrangements entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan – Broad Ripple, 1305 Broad Ripple Avenue, Indianapolis. Jane’s family extends grateful appreciation to Dr. Angela Wagner and the nurses and staff at St. Vincent Hospice for the care they gave her.
