Jane Holt

Jane Hedgcock Holt passed away on October 10, 2012 in Indianapolis. She was born in Joliet, Illinois, the daughter of J. Franklin and Mildred Davis Hedgcock. She graduated from Joliet Township High School in 1940 and DePauw University in 1944. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. In 1945, she married James Arthur Holt. She worked as a secretary at Wabash College while Jim finished his degree after WWII. Jim later became the President of Burnet-Binford Lumber Company in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death in 1970. Jane became the secretary of the Lower School at Park Tudor in Indianapolis where she retired after 17 years of service. She was a member of the Junior League of Indianapolis, Latrian, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. For the last eight years, she enjoyed residing at Hoosier Village Retirement Center. Jane's life revolved around her children, grandchildren, sister Ann Hedgcock (1928-1998), and many dear friends. She spent nearly 59 summers with her family on Lake Michigan. She is survived by her children, Steve (Emily); Arcadia, Barbara Busch (John); Milwaukee, and Bill (Tracy); Zionsville, grandchildren Amy Holt Pache, Jim Holt (Deanna), Steven Holt, Abby Busch Walker (Bill), Elizabeth Busch Jaworski (Matthew), Amanda Busch McClement (Todd), Rachel Busch Roberts (JC), Adam Holt, and Lyndsey Holt, and nine great-grandchildren. Calling will be held at Flanner and Buchanan- Zionsville, 105 W. Pine Street, on Friday October 12, from 4-7pm. A memorial service will be held at Hoosier Village Chapel for residents and staff Saturday October 13, 2012 with Fr. Lee Schaefer to officiate. The family would like the thank Dr. Diane Healey and the staff at Hoosier Village for the loving care provided to Jane. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Linden Hills Memorial Fund, c/o Bruce Reuter, 1035 Gladish Lane, Glenview, Illinois 60025.
