Jane Catherine Jahn, 82, of Fishers, Indiana passed away on July 4th with her loving family by her side. She was born in Rockford, IL to parents Richard H. and Margaret Flynn McMahon. She attended high school in Rockford and then attended University of Illinois, where she met and married the late David E. Jahn in 1960. Jane and Dave were married for 55 years before David’s passing in 2015.
Jane had a passion for life and the ability to see the best in everyone. She was a wife, a mother, and everyone’s friend. She had a fantastic sense of humor even into her last days. Jane was active in the community, was a braille translator, a world traveler, lover of dogs, and a fantastic cook. You never went hungry at the Jahn house.
She is survived by her daughter Gretchen (Larry) Harfst of Fishers, Indiana, her son Eric (Susan) Jahn of Grayslake, Illinois , her 4 grandchildren, Kara (John) Goodwin of Carmel, Indiana, LTJG David M. Jahn of the USN, the twins, Emily and Alex Jahn of Chicago, Illinois and her 2 great grandchildren Hayden and Layla Goodwin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hamilton County Humane Society, 10501 Hague Rd, Fishers, IN 46038.
Visitation will be held at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 1402 W Main St, Carmel, IN 46032, on Thursday July 22nd from 1-2pm. A memorial service will begin at 2pm. Online condolences may be shared at www.flannerbuchanan.com. Arrangements entrusted to Flanner Buchanan-Carmel.
