Jane Burnett was born on February 6, 1934 in Clermont IN to Daniel and Margarite Davis. She was the youngest of their six children and their only daughter. She grew up in Indianapolis where she attended IPS #27 and Broad Ripple High School. Upon graduation, she married her beau, John R. Burnett Jr, who was in the Air Force. They lived in Duluth MN and West Lafayette IN for a while before returning to Indianapolis. In the early 60’s, their two children, Robert and Linda, were born. Jane enjoyed being a wife & mother and took good care of her family.Years later, when her children got married and had kids, she welcomed their spouses and her grandkids with open arms. In 2008, Jane and John left Indianapolis and moved to Nineveh INso that they could be closer to their grandkids.

Jane’s caring nature went far beyond her immediate family to include her brothers and their spouses and families. Likewise, she maintained close relationships with a group of ladies that she played cards with for over 50 years and their spouses, as well as, with numerous neighbors that she had met over the years. In addition to playing cards, Jane enjoyed playing various games with her kids and grandkids. She was an avid reader, but also liked to watch movies as well. Jane excelled at cooking; a skill that she passed along to both her son and daughter. She was a hard worker who always tried to keep her house and yard in good shape. She passed this character trait on to her daughter, Linda, who gladly helped her mom with those chores when Jane was no longer able to do so. Jane loved to camp and fish with her husband. They spent many family vacations doing just that and also took several extended trips with their travel trailer after John had retired. She was a woman who loved her family and friends and cherished every moment with them. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
