James Stuart Wacker, 66, died on June 13, 2013. A visitation will take place on Saturday, June 22 at Flanner and Buchanan – Broad Ripple at 10 am, with a memorial service at 11 am. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
James was born in Indianapolis on September 16, 1946, son of Robert E. and Mary Jane (Pfeiffer) Wacker. He graduated from North Central High School and Wyndham College (Vermont), where he earned a B.A. in Government.
James achieved the designation of Eagle Scout, and later served in the United States Marine Corp, rising to the rank of Corporal.
Upon receiving his honorary discharge from the Marine Corps, James served as sales manager and buyer at Wacker Distributing Corporation, a successful sporting goods distribution business in Indianapolis. He worked faithfully alongside his father and elder brother.
James worked in a variety of other industries before retiring in 2000.
James worked tirelessly to support his family, but always reserved time to enjoy the beauty of northern Michigan and root for the Indianapolis Colts. He also enjoyed restoring antiques, especially clocks.
He was a member of College Park Church in Indianapolis, Kappa Sigma Fraternity and the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors.
James is survived by his brother, Robert Stephen Wacker of Carmel, IN; his children, Margaret Alig Reed of Newbury Park, CA and Peter James Alig of Napa, CA; his nephew, David Wacker; his nieces, Mimi Wacker, Jennifer Wacker Hamelmann and Katie Wacker; and his grandchildren, Nadia Alig Reed and Leona Jane Reed.
