James W. Mahnke, 77, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away suddenly on March 31, 2023. He was born on July 17, 1945, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Eugene and Florence Mahnke.
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, Jim joined the US Army. He then carved out a successful career in the banking industry with INB and finishing up as a Vice President at Chase. He was a manager at several branches in Carmel and Indianapolis. He was also the owner of the Yorkshire Rose Pub in Carmel.
Jim was never happier than when he was boating with family and friends. He especially loved the years he spent visiting Dale Hollow Lake in Kentucky. Jim traveled to Jamaica, Hawaii and the UK many times over the years. He was also passionate – and very skilled – at woodwork and furniture making.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Susan to whom he was married for 38 years. He was the loving brother of Joyce, Diane and Rick. He was also an uncle to David, Paul, Brian, Roger, Richard and Gillian.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 11, at 2 pm, at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 E. Carmel Drive, Carmel, Indiana 46032. To view the livestream of the service, please click here.
