James Thomas Overman

James "Jim" T. Overman, 81, Indianapolis, passed away November 22, 2011. He was born April 8, 1930 to the late LeRoy and Helen Overman. He married Margaret Ellis on June 30 1956. She survives. Other survivors include; children, Diana L. (Daryl) Spaulding, Tom (Betty) Overman; siblings, Janet Zering, Sandy (Jack) Jordan; 5 grandchildren, Joshua and Keith Overman, Lora (Joe) Engleman, Ashley (Justin) Vance, James Spaulding; one great-granddaughter, Mona Engleman. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and siblings LeRoy and Robert Overman and Dixie Carlino. Jim was a US Army Veteran having served from 1951-1953. He worked for the US Post Office for 32 years as a postal carrier. Jim was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers #39. Jim loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed oil painting, wood working and playing the organ. Friends may call Friday from 4:00-8:00PM at Flanner and Buchanan Washington Park East 10722 E. Washington St. A funeral will be Saturday at 1:00PM at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Washington Park East Cemetery.
