James Sarbinoff

James Sarbinoff Age 63 of Carmel passed away on April 14, 2011. He was born on December 29, 1947 to the late James Gill Sarbinoff and his mother L. Eileen (Adair) in Indianapolis, Indiana. James was a 1966 graduate of Speedway High School. After high school he attended Indiana University and in 1970 received his A.B. in Zoology. He then attended Indiana School of Dentistry and became a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1974, and James furthered his education and received his M.S.D. and Certificate in Periodontics. James served as a delegateAlternate Delegate with the Indiana Dental Assoc. between 1986-2000. He also served on the Indianapolis District Dental Society as Vice President between 1994-1995 becoming President in 1995-1996. He received his AAP Board Certification in 1994, and was a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Sarbinoff also taught at the Indiana University School of Dentistry. James belonged to several professional organizations American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, Indianapolis District Dental Society, American Academy of Periodontology, American College of Dentists and American Dental Education Association. Dr. Sarbinoff currently worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Indiana University. James will be greatly missed by his devoted wife Tamara (Griffith) Sarbinoff of 39 years, his three loving children James Griffith Sarbinoff, Erin Marie Griffith Sarbinoff and Grant Griffith Sarbinoff, James's brothers, Terrence and Brett Sarbinoff, his two sisters Stacy Hunt and Susan Shaw, Uncle Joe Kostoff, his step mother Diane Sarbinoff, mother in law Narvella Griffith, along with several nieces and nephews. Father in law Dr. Richard S. Griffith preceded James in death. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 19, 2011 at 10:00 am at Flanner and Buchanan Carmel Funeral Center with calling on Monday April 18, 2011 from 4-8 pm.
