James Rick' Vize, Jr.

James Rick Vize Jr., 69, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2015. Rick was born on September 20, 1946 in Evansville, to James R. Vize Sr. and Winifred Winnie (Fair) Russell.

Rick was a 1964 graduate of Sacred Heart High School. He served two years in the Marine Corps, being stationed in Vietnam where he was injured resulting in being awarded the Purple Heart Medal. He retired in 2009 as the Operations Manager for Carrier Corp after 25 years of service.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking cruises, golfing, and casinos. He was a member of the American Legion Post 79 of Zionsville.

He is survived by his three children, James Jim (Jacqueline) R. Vize III, Michelle Shelly (Justin Davis) R. Vize, Thomas (Lisa) Vize; one stepdaughter, Kerri Hipsky; eight grandchildren, David, Brandon, Madison, Lexi,
James, Nick, Alina, Jayden; one great grandchild, David; one brother, David (Donna) Vize and his stepmother, Wanda Vize.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Stephanie Vize; his father, James R. Vize, Sr.; his mother, Winnie Russell, and stepfather, Byron Russell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at Flanner and Buchanan Hamilton Memorial Park, 4180 Westfield Road. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 16, 2015, at the funeral center.
