James R. Jones

James R. Jones 88, Carmel, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012. He is survived by his five daughters, Patricia Dennison, Carmel, Deborah Katterhenry, Fishers, Jacqueline Proctor (Dan), Carmel, Margaret Knass (Jeff), Indianapolis, and Elizabeth Esra (Kent), Zionsville; a sister, Mary Jane Howell, Glendale, AZ; five grandchildren, Douglas Izsak, Indianapolis, Amanda Banks, Columbia City, IN, Grant and Mackenzie Knass, Indianapolis, and Bryan Katterhenry, Erie PA; and two great-grandchildren, Lillian and Elizabeth Banks. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife, Lois G. Jones, his grandson, Clinton Dennison, and his son-in-law, Philip Katterhenry. He was a veteran of WW II and proudly served our country earning a Purple Heart. Before retiring in 1990, Mr. Jones owned Moore's Shoe Store in Greencastle, IN. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing golf. Services will be on Tuesday, September 11 at 6 PM at Flanner and Buchanan- Carmel, 325 E. Carmel Drive, with calling from 4-6 PM. Interment will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) or the Salvation Army (salvationarmyusa.org).
