James R. "Jim" Cole

James R. “Jim” Cole, 81, died peacefully on August 10, 2021 at Brookdale following a brief illness. He was born on November 5, 1939 in Warren County, Indiana to Lewis and Lula (Arehart) Cole. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Nancy (Wilson).

Jim graduated from Tri-State (Trine) University in electrical engineering and worked at IBM until he retired in 1992. He enjoyed gardening, bird-watching, and spending time with his family.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, an infant son, and son-in-law. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Cathy McGeoch (Lyle deceased), Randy Cole (Mike Broderick), Lisa Harmison (Mark), and Jennifer Shook (Walter Groot). Jim had five grandchildren: Tigon Woline (Ben), Mike Harmison, Ian McGeoch (Alicia), Alex McGeoch (Jill), and Ethan Shook; and five great grandchildren: Riorden, Mirela, Weston, Rigel, and Kelvin.
