James R. Cabel

James R. Cabel, 76 of Indianapolis passed away November 14, 2011. Jim received his BS and Masters degrees from Indiana University. He was a member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity and Church of the Nativity. Jim was the physical director at Ransburg YMCA for 11 years. He was a physical education teacher at Lakeside Elementary School from 1972 to 1996, and coached swimming at Warren Central High School during that period. Jim is survived by his wife of 54 years Janet L. Cabel; children Jill Ann and Christopher Cabel; grandchildren Samantha and Nicholas; brother Joe Cabel and sister Agnes Antibus. Services will be Saturday, November 19, 11am at the Church of the Nativity, 73oo North Lantern Road with visitation Friday, November 18, from 4 to 8pm at Flanner and Buchanan –Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street. Burial will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Church of the Nativity.
