James M. Bennett

James Morris Bennett, 77, passed away August 12, 2014. Born on May 19, 1937, he was the son of the late Charles and Amy Bennett. Jim graduated from Morristown High School in 1955, where he was involved in softball, track, cross-country, and basketball. After high school, he enrolled at Indiana University and majored in business. Later, while employed at Indiana Farm Bureau Co-Op, he attended the IU Extension. He was also employed by CountryMark in labor relations, retiring in 1996. Jim was an elder and member of Outlook Christian Church, a member of the Morristown Masonic Lodge #193 F. & A.M., the Indianapolis Scottish Rite, and Old Oakland Golf Club. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna Boles Bennett; his children, Brett A. Bennett (Chris) and Char A. Jessup (L. T.); and his three grandchildren, James Justin Bennett, Grayson Bennett, and Caroline K. Jessup. Services will be held on Saturday, August 16 at 11 AM at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street. Visitation will be on Friday, August 15 from 4-8 PM, and also from 10-11 AM on Saturday. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts be made to Outlook Christian Church, 6531 N. 600 W., McCordsville, IN 46055.
