James L. Wright
82, passed away November 28, 2010, was born on June 7, 1928 in Hegira, Ky. James was the oldest child of C.O. and Mable Wright and lived most of his childhood on the family farm in Becton, KY. He attended Park City High School and graduated from Austin Tracy High School. James married Mary Elizabeth Gillock in June of 1948. They moved to Indianapolis, IN and lived there for 33 years where he worked as a skilled tradesman for Allison Transmission. James was a member of the West Newton Masonic Lodge # 707, the Scottish Rite, and the Shriner’s organizations. James and Mary had 3 children: Phil, Rick, and Teresa. 6 grandchildren: Phillip, Ben, Andrew, Colton, Emily, and Amanda, and 2 great grandchildren: Alexandra and Gabriella. James retired and he and Mary moved to Naples, Fl where they spent 22 years, until his health prevented him from living independently and they returned to the Indianapolis area for the past 5 years. James is preceded in death by his mother and father, his brothers: Tommy, Roger, and Norman and his sister Sandra. Survivors include: Mary, all his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, brothers: Ralph and Billy and his sisters Becky, Linda Lou, Freda, and Barbara Jo, along with lots of nieces and nephews and their children. Viewing will be at Flanner and Buchanan in Speedway, Indiana on Thursday December 2, 2010 from 11:00am – 1:00pm with service immediately following visitation hours. Burial will be at West Ridge Park in Indianapolis.
