James 'Jim' Rodney Groff

James Rodney "Jim" Groff 87 of Indianapolis died May 15, 2014. Jim was born in Indianapolis on November 27, 1926 in Indianapolis to Carlos Jacob and Hazel (Ridenour) Groff. Jim graduated from Washington High School. Following high school Jim served our country in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two grandchildren. Jim owned and operated Groff Construction Company for 45 years retiring in 1996. After retiring Jim worked as Guest Relations for Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Centers. He was a member of the Speedway American Legion Post #500. Calling is scheduled for Sunday May 18, 2014 at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park North beginning at 11 am to 2 pm followed by the funeral service at 2 pm. Jim is survived by his wife Evelyn Suzanne (Bernhardt) Groff, his daughter Nancy Lee (Bob) Holland and his son Daniel Gene (Ann) Groff three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and his sister Linda Lee Reynolds.
