James Preston Daniel, Jr. (Jim), 53, of Carmel, IN went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 18, 2012, surrounded by his family at the St. Vincent Hospice Care Facility in Indianapolis, IN following a brief illness.
Jim was born January 5,1959 in Albany, KY and moved to New Castle, IN shortly after. He was the son of Neldia (Dorine) Daniel, New Castle, IN and the late James Preston (Pret) Daniel.
Jim graduated from New Castle Chrysler High School in 1977 and ITT Tech, in Indianapolis, IN., in 1979. Jim married his loving and devoted wife of 32 years, Robin Garrard Daniel in 1980. Robin is the daughter of Donald James and Wilma Garrard. Jim was employed with Racal Milgo in Miami FL, St Louis MO, and Carmel IN. He also was employed several years with St. Vincent Health Systems and ERS Wireless Communications. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, fishing and was an avid sports fan. He especially was passionate about the Chicago Cubs and IU Basketball and was a member of Northview Christian Church.
Jim is survived by his wife, Robin, his two children, Courtney Daniel and Travis Daniel, all of Carmel, IN.; his mother, Neldia, his two sisters, Debbie Roach (husband Tony) of Springport, IN and Scarlet Daniel of New Castle, IN, his in-laws, Donald and Wilma, his brother-in-laws, Marc Garrard (wife Lori) and Chris Garrard (wife Marianne), several nephews, a niece, cousins and a host of relatives and wonderful friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Preston Daniel, his Grandparents; Ruby Jewell Hudson-Mills and William Addison Mills, Rosie Riddle-Daniel and Luther Daniel.
Friends may call on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 4-8pm at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center, located at 325 E. Carmel Drive, Carmel, IN. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 11am.
