James "Jim" Douglas Topf, 66, of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014. He was born on June 30, 1947 in Wellsboro, PA to Henry Ernest and Bertha (Stock) Topf. Jim served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1972. He worked as the Head of Engineering for Miller Pipeline and was self-employed as an engineer. Jim's interests outside of work included fly fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, Clermont Lions Club, Marion County Fish and Game Club and was an Endowment member of the NRA. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Sue (Schroeder) Topf; son, Brian Weston (Karen) Topf; step-children, Jeff (Ashley) Blackwell, Amy (Dimitri) Kondas, Ben Blackwell, Tim (Nichole) Blackwell; and 11 grandchildren. He is also survived by his 3 brothers, Henry, David and John Topf; Jim was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation for Mr. Topf will be held on Sunday, May 11, 2014 from 3 until 7pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Speedway. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Christopher Catholic Church on Monday morning at 10:30am. Cremation will follow.
