James D.Houser, 89, Indianapolis passed away Sept. 17, 2016.
He was bornOct. 27, 1926 in Indianapolis to Neola (Drake) and Denzel Houser.
Jim hadretired from Allison’s after 30 years. He joined the US Army as a young manduring the end of World War II and shortly after enlisted in the US MarineCorps serving honorably in Korea and was one of the few survivors of the battleat Chosen Reservoir Korea. He was recognized with honors and medals as a memberwith of the Chosen Few. Jim enjoyed hiking and being outdoors when living inColorado.
Jim issurvived by his sisters, Nada Simpson, Rita Bryant, Margie Troutman and LindaRice; Shawn Woodward, his niece and caregiver and Jerry and Louise Gorman and nephew Scott Troutman.
He waspreceded in death by his parents and sisters, Hilda Wallace and Sue Houser.
A gatheringof family and friends will be 11 am until a celebration of Jim’s life at 1 pmFriday, Sept. 23, 2016 at Flanner andBuchanan-Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Rd.
