James J. McGowen

69, Indianapolis, passed away October 6, 2016, surrounded by his family. Jim was born in Long Beach, California on June 20, 1947 to the late, Clarence Edward and Helen Agnes (Grider) McGowen. He graduated from Lawrence Central High School, and at the time of his death, worked as a Janitor for Stanley Chevrolet. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed watching movies, comics, star trek conventions and the like.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Helen; sisters, Sharon Kathleen McGowen-Arrowsmith and her husband Edward and Terry Lynn McGowen.

Jim is survived by siblings: Clarence Paul McGowen (Susan), Dorothy D. McGowen-Smith (Lee) and Richard Lee McGowen (Cathy); as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

A memorial gathering will be held from 4pm until 6pm on Friday, October 14, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East.
