Morristown

Morristown, Indiana – James L. Inman, Jr., 81, passed away peacefully while being comforted by his family on January 30, 2026. His sense of humor, his special jig, and the love he had for his family will be deeply missed.

Jim was born in Fountain Head, Tennessee, on October 11, 1944, to James & Ruth (Carver) Inman. He joined the Army out of high school and spent several years serving his country, including time in South Korea. After he left the military, he held several positions, but most enjoyed his time at the Indianapolis Parks Department and Hoosier Equipment Service, where he worked until his retirement.

Friendly and outgoing, Jim had friends wherever he went, whether that was the New Palestine Needlers, Cracker Barrel, or helping others at Do It Best after his retirement. Jim also enjoyed traveling, especially heading south to Tennessee.

Most importantly, Jim was dedicated to his family. He found purpose in being a provider and was most at peace when he was with them.

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pamela Inman, who passed in 2024.

He is survived by his children, Amy O’Donnell (David) and James R. Inman (Kelley Spencer); grandchildren Jack Inman, Grace O’Donnell, and Tyler O’Donnell, sister Diana O'Connor (Charlie); brother Chris Inman; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229) from 12 – 2 pm on Thursday, February 5, 2026, with funeral services following at 2 pm. Pastor Todd Curtis will be presiding. Burial will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery following services.
