James Gialdini, 84, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away on January 6, 2012. He is survived by Mary Gialdini, to whom he was married for 58 years. Jim joined the United Sates Navy as a Sea Bee and was stationed in the South Pacific as a Motor Machinist Mate 3rd Class.
His career was in the insurance business. He was employed as a manager by Fireman's Fund, Central Surety, Hartford, Commercial Union and retired from Chubb & Son as Branch Manager and Vice President. Jim was a member of the Carmel Golden "K" Kiwanis, and served on its board of directors. Jim enjoyed playing bridge and golf.
He is survived by his children Michael, Michele (Kevin) Matson, two grandchildren, Nicholas Matson, Domenica Matson and one great grand-child Finnigan Whitaker. Jim was an excellent husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and loyal friend.
Calling will be held on Tuesday January 10, 2012 from 4-7 pm at Flanner and Buchanan-Carmel. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday January 11, 2012 at 10:30 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, where friends and family are invited to gather from 9:30 am till time of Mass. Entombment will be held at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Vincent Hospice.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Prairie Lakes Health Campus in Noblesville and St. Vincent's Hospice for providing compassionate and loving care.
