James “Jim” Farrell Holbrook,
79, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016 in Grapevine, Texas. He was born on June 24, 1936 to the late Tullie James and Alice Isabell (Leitner) Holbrook in Electra, Texas. James worked for Exxon Mobile for 30 years, retiring at 55 in 1992. He and his loving wife, Flona, were happily married for 32 ½ years. James never met a stranger – he greeted everyone with a warm smile and a hearty greeting. His passions included speculating in the stock market and riding his motorcycles, and was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. Later in life he worked with the Support for People with Oral and Head and Neck Cancer.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, and a step-son, James Morin (Amy). He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Jamie Holbrook; step-children, Scott Morin (Anna), and Lori Irvine; and their children, Kyle, Katie, Adam, Alise, Nicole and Tyler Morin, Jeremy Wilson, and Jenna Irvine. He also leaves behind a large extended family, and many close friends and comrades.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 26, from 10am – 12pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis. Funeral Service will follow at 12pm, with burial at Washington Park East Cemetery immediately after.
