James Eldon Linn

August 6, 1943 — October 17, 2013

James E. Linn II age 70, of Englewood, FL passed away on October 17th, 2013 after a lengthy battle with several health issues. Jim returned to his home state of Indiana on August 31, 2013 to spend some quality time with his son, Aaron & daughter-in-law Christy and with high hopes of medical treatment to prolong his life. He was born to the late James Eldon Linn & Mary Jane Smith on September 6, 1943 in Kokomo, Indiana. He married Cynthia (Cindy) Marie Cole on November 26, 2001 and they lived in Destin, FL prior to moving to Englewood, FL in July 2005. He retired from Farm Bureau of Indiana in 1995 and moved to Spring Hill, FL where he bought an Allstate Insurance Agency which he ran for a few years and then he completely retired and moved to Destin with Cindy. He received numerous awards during his tenure with Farm Bureau to include the coveted "Governor" Award. He was also nominated and included in the Marquis Who's Who in America. He had a BS in Business Administration from Pacific Western University and an Associate Accounting from Lane Tech. Institute. He also served as a sergeant in the United States Army from 1965-1967. He was a Patriot in every sense of the word... and ultra conservative. Jim is survived by his mother, Mary Jane Linn of Citrus Heights, CA, his son, Aaron Linn and his wife Christy of Indianapolis, IN, his wife Cindy of Avon Park, FL, three sisters Vicki Sigman of Okeechobee, FL, Pam Kepler and her husband Steve of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, and Diana Linn of Atherton, CA, his step-son Jason Stuart of Gulf Breeze, FL, and three granddaughters, Jaslyn, Cadynce & Jacey. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. A celebration of life will be held at Flanner and Buchanan - Carmel, 325 E Carmel Dr., Carmel, IN 46032 on Saturday, October 26th from 12 - 2 pm with a brief service at 2:00. The family sends a very special thank you to the staff at both Wellbrooke of Westfield and St Vincents Hospital in Carmel for their superior level of compassionate care. Jim's final resting place will be the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington VA. The date of that service is yet to be determined.
