James King, 48, of New Whiteland, IN, passed away September 3, 2019. James was born on September 21, 1970 to Howard E. and Janet D. King in Indianapolis, IN. He graduated from Howe High School and went on to college. James then married Laura Lucas on June 2, 1990. Together they raised three adoring children.
James loved the outdoors, including fishing, but also had a special place in his heart for the landscape of Colorado. He would often tell stories of his visits to the state to his children, he had always wanted to visit again.
James loved his family and cherished the time spent with his wife, children, and dog. On lazy weekends you could find him laughing at the Simpsons or cheering on his favorite football teams. He also was known for his quick sense of humor, love of sarcasm, and his expansive knowledge of Simpsons quotes that he shared with his children.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Laura King; children, Brandon (Samantha), Lucas, and Samantha; parents, Howard and Janet King; sisters Nina and Rachel; and his treasured dog Mika.
James is preceded in death by both sets of his grandparents, his nephew Tyler, and Missy, the dog he inherited from his maternal grandparents in their passing.

A time of visiting will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 12-2PM and a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 2PM.
