James E. Jordan

June 13, 1950 — August 13, 2021

Indianapolis, IN

James E. Jordan, 71, died peacefully in his home in Indianapolis on August 13, 2021. He is now styling angel hair and playing golf with brother Ronnie Bill and father-in-law Bob on heavenly links.

Jim was born in Indianapolis and grew up among a large family of loving siblings and cousins. He attended Tech High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army.

After he returned from service, he developed his amazing gift and was eventually voted “Best Hair Stylist in Indianapolis”. He successfully operated “The Feathered Head” Hair Salons in both Zionsville and Indianapolis, where he was known for being a sports enthusiast and a loving family man. He could hit an accurate golf ball or softball but was best known for his ability to wield a pair of trimming shears.  His clients came from all around Indiana and included many local TV and radio personalities. It was not unusual for him to serve his clientele with his own toddlers in a playpen and his wife at his side.  You were lucky and looking fabulous if Jim Jordan had done your hair!

Jim is survived by his children, Josh Jordan, Cody Jordan, and Miranda Jordan (Rob);
3 granddaughters: Brooklyn, Briana and Genoa “Gigi” Jordan; Sisters: Linda Kirkham (Steve), Diana Ward, Frances Rutherford and Dona Sheets; brothers: Jerry Jordan (Janet), Dave Jordan (Terry), and Donald Golay (Nancy); and former wife and friend, Jackie Jordan-Grady.

He was preceded in death by his dear Aunt Evelyn Games, brother Ronnie Bill Jordan (Mary), and daughter, Marnie Weaks, to name only a few.

Jim was loved and will be missed by those who knew him for the big heart he had and the talent that so many enjoyed.

A private memorial will be held for family on Friday morning, October 8, 2021.  A Celebration
of Life will follow that afternoon.  Time and location of the Celebration may be requested by emailing [email protected] or [email protected].
