James D. Rowe

James D. Rowe, 81, passed away peacefully with his wife and children by his side on June 29, 2021.

He was born on October 14, 1939 to Charles and Martha Rowe. In 1957, he was in the first graduating class of Scecina Memorial High School in Indianapolis. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. Jim retired at the age of 52 from Chevrolet after thirty years of service. He was a devout Catholic who attended Holy Spirit Church for over 50 years.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jerry; and his sister, Gail.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janet; his sister, Barb; his children, Debbie Fellmeth (Dane), Donna Nihiser (Casey), John Rowe (Kim), Angie Roucoulet (Rob); his grandchildren, Breanna (Jon), Rob Jr., Katelyn, Travis, Drew, Carson, Nolan, Brayton, and Shari; along with two great grandchildren, Ava and Jalen.

In Jim’s honor, we ask that each of you perform an act of kindness to someone in need.

Visitation will be held Wednesday July 7, 2021 from 10 am to 12 pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (7243 E 10th St, Indianapolis, IN 46219), with a Mass of Christian Burial starting at 12 pm. A committal service for James will follow at Calvary Cemetery (435 West Troy Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46217).
