JAMES D. "Jim" JACKSON,
of Indianapolis, died at the age of 87 on October 23, 2013.
Jim was born September 18, 1926, loved flying, especially when it was with his wife, Jo, of 63 years. He was a certified flight instructor and taught many the gift of flight. He was a WWII Navy veteran, a gunner on the TBM Avenger, as well as a Free Mason and a member of the Good Shepherd Methodist Church.
He was a proud father of four children, James (Paula), Mark (deceased), Pam (Mike), and Jay (Brenda), and seven grandchildren, Megan, Chris, Michelle, Andrew, Joseph, Kai, and Weston, brother of Janet Jackson and uncle of Robbin Kimbley.
Jim retired from the Indianapolis Convention Center as the electrical foreman.
Funeral services with a Masonic ceremony and military honors will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 4:00 PM in Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street. Visitation will also be held on Sunday prior to services from 2-4 PM at the funeral home.
