James D. 'J.D' Likens

James D. "J.D." Likens 83, Indianapolis, passed away April 29, 2012. J.D. was employed with Ford Motor Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of U.A.W. Local #1111. J.D. enjoyed traveling in his motorhome with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Katherine Likens; children, Judy Gail (Marion) Hammond, Sandy (Tom) Stroud, Rhonda (Jerry) Skaggs, Tony Likens and Carol (Jeff) Applegate; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services for J.D. will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East, with Dr. Randall Parker officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8 at the funeral center. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and/or the American Lung Association.
