James Arthur Perkins 75 of Brownsburg, IN formerly Indianapolis died March 28, 2011. Jim was born April 23, 1935 in Indianapolis to James Cletus and Violet Marcella (Long) Perkins. Jim worked in the factory for Chrysler Corp. here in Indianapolis before becoming an International Union Representative for the U.A.W. where he retired in 1995. Jim was a member of the Capitol City Masonic Lodge #312, Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine 40/8 and Amvets and the American Legion Post #497 where he was the past Commander of the Legion. He was on the Board of Directors for Anthem Blue Cross. Calling will be scheduled for Friday April 01, 2011 from 4 to 8 PM at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center Washington Park North 2706 Kessler Blvd. W. Drive Indianapolis, In 46228. An American Legion Service will be held Friday evening at 6:00 PM at the funeral center. Funeral services will be held Saturday April 02, 2011 at 11 AM in the funeral center with calling one hour prior to the services. Jim is survived by his wife Phyllis Adonna (Uhls) Perkins, daughters Cindi (James McGinley) VanArsdale and Brenda Schultz, grandchildren Tiffany, Taylor and Hunter VanArsdale and Victoria Schultz, step mother E. Joy (Brewer) Perkins and a brother Virgil (Kathy) Perkins. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Fishers, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
