James A Surdi

James A Surdi, 96, most recently residing in Brownsburg, IN passed away on November 11, 2015. He was born in 1919 in Trenton, NJ, the son of Salvatore and Mary Surdi. He studied hair styling and practiced in New York City. He moved to Indianapolis in 1956 where he continued his profession at L.S. Ayres and his own private salon at 38th and Emerson Ave. He was an ardent golfer. He is survived by his wife Virginia L Surdi as well as children Christine Longlin, Nancy McDaniel, Lisa Gruber and Richard Surdi, all residing in Indianapolis IN. He also is survived by 11 grandchildren and two stepchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers John and Ronald Richie Surdi. Visitation will be held on Sunday November 15, 2015 at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd West Drive, Indianapolis, IN, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., with a memorial service to begin at 3:00 p.m. Cremated remains are to be placed at Washington Park North Cemetery in the Great Hall Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Indiana Alzheimers Association.
