James A. Rice

James A. Rice, 85, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 17, 2013. He was the son of Dr. Thurman B. Rice and Ruby Rice. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Bette Rice; daughters, Linda (David) Cardwell, Karen Hoffman; stepdaughter, Laura (James) Oldfather; five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He was a graduate of Shortridge High School and DePauw University, and a veteran of the United States Army. He had a 43 year career with People's Bank and Trust Company, was a 37 year member of the Indianapolis Downtown Lions Club, and an active member of the Indianapolis Daylily and Iris Society. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, July 1, at Flanner and Buchanan, Washington Park East Funeral and Cemetery Center.
