James A. Helbing

James Andrew Helbing 64 of Indianapolis died December 10, 2010. Jim was born December 15, 1945 in Plainfield, N.J. to Clarence Henry and Patricia Marie (Walz) Helbing. Jim graduated from General Motors Institute in 1969 and was employed by Allison Transmission Division of General Motors. He worked in the off highway and industrial transmission group as an engineer from 1969 to 1978 and the service department from 1978 to October of 2003 when he retired. Jim was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church, S/S Peter and Paul Food Pantry, St. Vincent De Paul and Kairos Prison Ministries. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Christopher Helbing. Calling will be held Tuesday December 14, 2010 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center Washington Park North 2706 Kessler Blvd West Dr. Indianapolis, IN 46228 from 4 PM to 8 PM with a rosary at 7:30PM. Additional calling will be held on Wednesday December 15, 2010 at St. Monica Catholic Church Daily Chapel 6131 North Michigan Road Indianapolis, IN. 46228 from 9 AM to service time at 10 AM. Jim is survived by his siblings Thomas J. (Kathleen) Helbing, Michael G. (Wendy) Helbing, Mary T. Hession and William C. (Beth) Helbing.
