Jacqueline Joyce Warne

Jacqueline (Jackie) Joyce Bauer Warne left her failing body for her heavenly body on Saturday January 6, 2024.

Jackie was born to John E. Bauer and Vera L. Rethmeier Bauer on July 23, 1931 in Indianapolis.

Jackie loved to swim at the Riveria. She also loved to Ice Skate at the Indianapolis Coliseum.

She lived back and forth from Indianapolis to southern Florida in her early Grade school life. She finished Grade School at John Strange Elementary. She went on to Broad Ripple High School where she was quite the socialite. She remained friends with many from High School and most have passed on. She graduated in 1949.  She met the love of her life Allan H. Warne, Jr. at Broad Ripple. They were married September 7, 1949.

Jackie was an Army wife for several years, then they moved back to Indianapolis to raise their 3 children. She was very active with Starlight Musicals. She helped transport cast from Airport to wherever they were staying. She and Allan were members of the Indianapolis Athletic Club and the Indianapolis Press Club. She belonged to the Indianapolis Propylaeum and served on the Board along with helping hostess and the Mailing Committee.

She was very active in the Builders Association Women’s Auxiliary. She was President of the Marion County Residential Builders Women’s Auxiliary in 1969.

She was Eastridge Elementary PTA President 1970.

Jackie loved to socialize and entertain! There was always room for extras at the dinner table.

Jackie was predeceased by her parents, her husband Allan and her first Great Grandson Ray Newcom.

Her Three Children are Karen Warne (Charley) Pfeiffer, Dr. James Brian Warne (Gina) and John Allan (Monica) Warne.

Her Grand Children are Christa Pfeiffer Newcom (Gary), Carly Pfeiffer Thompson, Kate Warne Lynch (Robby), Jennifer Warne Shelmadine (Jeremy), Kelly Warne Dilts (David), Olivia Warne Drumm (Joshua), Gianna Warne, Anthony Warne and Jeremy Thompson.

Her Great Grandchildren Ray Newcom (deceased), Jake Newcom, Bryce Thompson, Ashton, Riley and Jax Lynch, Jaelynn Shelmadine and Briella Drumm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 2345 W 86th St, Indianapolis, IN 46260.

Visitation will be held Thursday January 11th from 9:30am-10:30am at Little Sisters of the Poor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held there at 10:30am. Online condolences may be shared at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
