Jacqueline Sellick

March 28, 1923 — October 20, 2012

Jacqueline E. Blomberg Sellick passed away peacefully on October 20, 2012 (With her devoted husband of 69 years and her beloved nephew, Ted, at her bedside.) She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Clara Burnell Blomberg and Herman William Blomberg on March 28, 1923. Jacqueline was a lifelong resident of Indianapolis. Her education included Shortridge High School. She went on to become a graduate of Butler University. During her Butler days, she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and a member of the Debate Team. During World War II, she was chosen "Blackout Queen." She was a past member of the Boy's Club Auxiliary, and a member of Woodland Country Club, and a recipient of the Ovid-Butler Award. On September 2, 1942, Jacqueline married Winston "Bud" Sellick. Her work included over twenty years on the Industrial Board. She also owned and operated commercial real estate for forty years. Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents, Clara and Herman Blomberg, her brother Herman William Blomberg, Jr. and her sister Frances Rebecca Blomberg Muesing, and her nephew L. Gordon Muesing. She is survived by her loving husband, Winston "Bud" Sellick, sisters-in-law Edrie Sellick Hough and Winifred Lee Sellick Ingram, a nephew John Theodore Muesing, niece-in-law Virginia R. Muesing, one great nephew, John C. Muesing and a great niece Leslie E. Muesing Krake, as well as a great great niece and three great great nephews. Services will be on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 12:00pm in Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 N. Meridian St., with calling starting at 10:00am until the time of service. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, Butler University or a charity of your choice. The family appreciates and wishes to thank the medical staff of Clarian North Hospital and for the loving care that Jacqueline received at Carmel Care.
