Jacqueline (Jackie) Lou (Layton) Jacobs passed away peacefully September 15, 2021 at the age of 90. Jackie was preceded in death by her husband Dick Jacobs. She is survived by her son Bill Jacobs of Indianapolis, daughters Sally (Dennis) Bassett of Zionsville and Julie (Ron) Wright of Mooresville. She has seven wonderful grandchildren: Rachel Sendelbach, Tricia Zoss, Carley Ritenour, Brent Wright, Ashley Lancer, Laura Brown, Jason Dearing, and Bridgett Vaske. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.

Jackie was extremely active throughout her life. She went to Shelbyville Schools during WWII and went on to graduate from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis. No one could have had any better friends than Jackie throughout her life. She was a social butterfly, and always on the go. She retired as an assistant to the principal at IPS #52, she helped class reunions thrive at both high schools way into her 70s, was an active member at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Red Hat Society, Tri Kappa, garden clubs, and so much more.
