Jacqueline M. "Jackie" Squires
of Indianapolis, died September 28, 2012 at the age of 42.
Jackie was born June 8, 1970 in Springfield, Illinois to John H. and Mary Kay (nee Damhorst) Squires. She graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1988 before attending Illinois State University. She was employed by Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Centers, as well as the YMCA of Indianapolis. In her spare time she loved to exercise, ran mini marathons five times and was an avid reader spending much time at the library. She will be best remembered as the kindred spirit who always brought a smile to everyone's face and devoted her entire life to her children. Jackie's role as a mom was what made her most proud.
Jackie is survived by her husband Jerry VanSchaik; loving children William John VanSchaik, Jack Theodore VanSchaik, Margaret Mary VanSchaik, and Francis "Frankie" Jerome VanSchaik. She was the beloved and eldest of five daughters of John H. and Mary Kay (nee Damhorst) Squires. She also leaves behind siblings Elizabeth Bormann (Wayne), Katherine Squires, Emily Squires (Keith Voyles) and Grace Squires, as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 2 from 4 to 8 PM at Flanner and Buchanan Community Life Center, 10612 E Washington St, Indianapolis. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, October 3 at Little Flower Catholic Church, 4720 E. 13th Street, Indianapolis with visitation at 9 AM prior to mass. Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for her children's education funds.
