In Loving Memory of Jacqueline Joan “Jackie” Cadwell
August 22, 1935 – October 19, 2026
Jacqueline Joan “Jackie” Cadwell, 91, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2026, and went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ. A lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Jackie lived a beautiful life rooted in faith, filled with love and laughter, and devoted to caring for others. She was more than a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend - she was a blessing to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Jackie’s faith was the foundation of her life. She loved the Lord, read her Bible, prayed faithfully for her family and friends, and shared Scripture and wisdom to encourage others. She made it a priority to ensure her family knew the Lord and the importance of living with love, kindness, and faith. She loved the Word of God and found comfort and inspiration in the Bible, and she cherished her church family at Fleming Garden Christian Church.
Jackie had a special gift for making everyone feel loved and welcome. She never met a stranger, and her warmth, humor, and wisdom made people feel at home. Whether offering advice, sharing a laugh, or praying for someone, she touched countless lives with her generous heart.
Her life was filled with music, skating, and treasured memories. At just 18, Jackie sang in a country-western band, sharing a beautiful voice her loved ones would always remember. One of her most cherished memories was singing “The Shadow of Your Smile” to her children as they danced in Adagio. Her passion for skating began in the 1950s and 1960s, and she later became a speed skating coach in the 1970s. She also operated three USA skating rinks in Indianapolis, sharing her love of the sport with others.
Above all, Jackie loved her family. She leaves behind her four beloved children: David (Carla) Cadwell; Candi (Howard) Guilinger; Tim (Michelle) Cadwell; and Mark (Paula) Cadwell. She is also lovingly remembered by her 15 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and generations beyond, her beloved sister, Patricia Wirth, and a host of extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Violet Flora.
Jackie’s legacy lives on through the generations she helped shape, the faith she instilled, the prayers she prayed, and the love she gave so freely. She taught her family to trust in God, love one another, and welcome others with open hearts. Though she will be deeply missed, her laughter, songs, wisdom, and unwavering faith will remain with us always.
